Overflowing

November 16, 2010

20 months. A big number. Round and full.

Much like I feel about you.

Your growing and changing. Blossoming.  Becoming you.

You leave me breathless, altogether charmed.

With each passing moment, I adore you more.

Your spirit is vivid and radiant,  full of enthusiasm for life.

Mischief. We see it bright in your eyes.

Your laugh is infectious. You cackle and torment, tease and run.

Turning and anticipating the chase.

Delighting even yourself.

As you change, become a boy, I am wistful.

Learning new words each day, flaunting your growing independence.

You venture. Feel secure in the the love that surrounds you.

Our hearts swell with pride, overflowing.

Melt my heart! That smile.
My monkey wore that costume last year. I think it was my favourite costume of all time. The tail was adorable.

That is so sweet, Christine. (As is the fact that he’s got your smile.)

I think that he and Emily would be fast friends. : ) I love the grin he has in the first picture, a mixture of mischievousness and playfulness.

I love this, Christine. He is adorable!

I am right there with you- mine is 21 months now. It is amazing how much they change, even from day to day. Exploring and learning. Even when I think my heart is full she somehow manages to expand it and take up even more. Lovely, tribute.

Lovely. Just lovely.

I didn’t realize our little ones are so close in age. Mine is just about 19 months. This is such a wonderful, expansive time with them. And I feel wistful for what is past too. Today I looked up and saw for certain that she is no longer a baby.

Keep writing these moments! I wish I had more of them recorded from my older two’s baby-est days. Ah the littlest ones, we hold on so dear, don’t we. And, what IS it about photos amid pumpkins. Nothing better. Brighter. Happier. Nothing says KID more than that.

There is something about kids and pumpkins that makes for great pix.

Oh Christine – he is tooooooo cute. That monkey costume is just adorable. They grow so fast don’t they? I recently celebrated my daughter’s second birthday and I can’t believe myself that she’s here. We sometimes can’t even allow ourselves to blink because we just don’t know what we’ll be looking at when we open our eyes!
